Production meeting #1
19:28This is what we have came up with. We want to make a spy thriller scene but don't want it to be so cliche like a typical spy scene that have the running and chasing scene.
I was inspired by James Bond film "Casino Royale", the opening scene ends with unpredictable gun shot killing the villain. The black and white screen make this scene like a noir film which is so classic for me. I would like to explore with the idea of simplicity but attracting enough to keep us watching since we wouldn't be able to fit the complicated plot into just 1-2 minutes.
Sky Fall
From this opening we really liked the slow-mo underwater shot so we might use it to start the story and expand from that. I think it is so stunning and people will have questions of what is happening. We might have to learn how to add the filter because it is quite effective, help set the mood for the opening scene.
Imitation Game
I think that the story of Imitation Game is based on spy where it doesn't portray the word 'spy' as an actions or anything to do with bad guy and good guy. It is more about like how the protoganist use their gifts to do something right, to save lives and idea of this which make the story so meaningful to me. The protagonist in this movie do have a very complicated sad background. When it came to the end he decided to commit suicide when others spy movie keep their protagonist alive.
Dialogue in the opening scene is important dialogue which force the audience to listen as it might refer to what will happen and give us information about the protagonist. Also, the ominous sound track of piano playing along the dialogues creates a very mysterious scene. The opening scene has shown us things that the protagonist is doing and facing not the actual character so I think that it is a good way to keep audience engaged.
List of movies that inspired us
